Ever lost?

If you are ever lost then just start a random walk, and you will eventually get to where you want to go. This is true in 2-dimensions (ref: Wikipedia, Mathworld) but only 34% chance in 3-dimensions (ref: Wikipedia, Mathworld).
Although our world is has 3 dimensions, we cannot fly so we can transform the 3-dimensional space we live in into a 2-dimensional structure which contain all the places which we can walk on.

Friday humor

I just had to blog this thing I read from a Norwegian newspaper (VG): "One ton of marijuana (cannabis) went up in smokes" the article is in Norwegian, but it is fun to read. They do not know who placed the marijuana, but the 35 firefighters fighting the fires inhaled enough smoke that they will not be able to pass a drug test in the coming weeks.

How to live together

Cory Doctorow has written a nice article "Snitchtown" about how we should live together and how digital cameras on every corner does not help. Best quote: "When you watch everyone, you watch no one".
On the other hand if people do not behave as USA wants them to behave they now use enhanced interrogation techniques. Now to get something linkable you mix politicians talking about it, with Monty Python's Spanish inquisition to get a funny youtube video.
